We were at EICMA. This year, Europe's most prestigious and largest motorcycle and accessories exhibition was once again held in Milan, Italy. Both the attendance and the content of the exhibition were impressive.
Of course, such an exhibition also includes the presentation of new models from various brands. New models such as the KOVE 800GT, which is designed to satisfy the desires of KOVE owners for a more touring-oriented motorcycle, were presented, as well as new additions to the world of off-road motorcycles, the KOVE 450 and 250MX, designed for the most difficult terrain. They also presented a small touring enduro from KAWASAKI called the KLE500, the latest addition to the BMW GS 450, the new DesertX from the Italian company DUCATI, and many other models from various other manufacturers.
What caught our attention the most? As rally and enduro enthusiasts, it was definitely the Dakar exhibition DESERT QUEENS, which presented motorcycles that had participated in Dakar over several decades. One of them was the Yamaha XT500, on which Thierry Sabine got lost in the Ténéré desert during the Abidjan-Nice Rally in 1977. It was this event that marked the beginning of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally. Other highlights included the 1990 Cagiva Elefant 900, the 2002 KTM LC8 950 Rally, and the 2020 Honda HRC CRF450 Rally. In addition, we had the opportunity to admire the tent of another legendary event, the Africa Eco Race.
Among the wide range of accessories on offer, we were most interested in the exhibition of exhausts from one of the most prestigious manufacturers, HPCORSE. And that was our main goal for the visit – to make new contacts that will definitely help us in our upcoming HENDUROT season. We can't wait!
